Its waiting time for rains over the Arabica coffee Belt in Brazil
Two flowerings have happened and a last one is expected within the next 10 days.
Rains are now fundamental for the fixation, healthy fructification and productivity of the next 2015/2016 crop.
It is still too early to count additional losses but we are getting very close to the “D” day when the plants start to drop fruits due to lack of rain and excess stress.
Hopefully, we will see the expected rains reach the coffee Belt with abundance after October 19th.
On the other hand, if rains delay into late October, losses will begin to accumulate and if the dry spell remains thru mid-November, 2015 Arabica production will suffer an additional negative impact in volume.
I will be in Brazil from October 14th thru the 18th visiting the Arabica Regions of South of Minas and Cerrado, will report directly from the spot on our next weeks news letters.
